Pathway, a charitable, non-profit, and voluntary organization in Bangladesh, observed the National Day of Mourning with third gender People.

The Volunteer charity organization Pathway obeyed the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the nation of independent Bangladesh and the national mourning day of Bangladesh.

On the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a spiritual milad mahfil and prayers were held at Pathway's head office in Mirpur, Dhaka on Monday, August 15, to pray for the souls of all the martyrs of his family.

More than two hundred third-gender people and the mass people of Mirpur were present at the time of this assembly. Later discussion meeting with all and a painting competition was held among the young children.

Also, massive food distribution is done among the masses as well as the third gender. On this occasion, Pathway organized various cultural and national programs including hoisting the national flag in the morning.

 Honorable representative of the third gender/Transgender, Kanta said, if the father of the nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was alive, he would not have been so neglected in society. He used to give us the opportunity to return to the mainstream of society and work for the development of the country. On the occasion of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 47th martyrdom anniversary, Kanta made a sincere request to the important people of the country, including the Prime Minister and the Head of Government, to come forward to create workplaces for people of the third gender in Bangladesh.

Executive Director of Pathway, Md. Shahin said in the discussion meeting, To build Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla, the backward groups of the society must be included in the mainstream of the society. He appealed to the family, society, and close relatives to treat the neglected third gender as human beings, avoid negative attitudes towards them and pay attention to their basic rights including education, health, housing, etc. He urged them to participate in all developmental activities of the state. We have to provide them various technical pieces of training to improve their skill and create job opportunities at home and abroad.

He also requested everyone to come forward to remove the unemployment problem in Bangladesh by providing employment opportunities in various companies by giving equal rights to government jobs as well as the private segment.  It's our birthplace, our motherland, the responsibility is not only yours but everyone’s. He requested all the financial institutions in the country to provide financial support and business opportunities to the third gender people. 


In this regard, Pathway, a volunteer charity non-governmental organization, already has taken the initiative of providing small loans to Transgender to eliminate their unemployment problem and make them financially self-reliant.  Which can be a milestone in the history of 51 years of independence, said the Executive Director of Pathway.
