As we know, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the people of limited income and day laborers suffered the most due to lack of earning sources. Such people have been suffering from a shortage of food since the beginning of the pandemic.
PATHWAY’s Onnodan Campaign is a passive approach where more privileged members of the society get to help the less privileged. During the first stage of the program, volunteers of PATHWAY placed 100 baskets in front of shops and markets with banners “Spare some food for the needy here, take if you need it”. The concept of this initiative is, if people want to help put some food in the basket, people who want can take it from it. It doesn’t require any additional maintenance and monitoring and people get the maximum benefit out of it which would not have happened had there been money involved in this program. The first phase of this project was appreciated by people from different parts of society. In the next steps, PATHWAY wants to distribute 1000 baskets in different bus terminals, bus stoppages, and Dhaka University. In the third phase, PATHWAY wants to spread this concept in Barisal and then all over the country. PATHWAY believes this campaign will be successful through the spontaneous participation of people of the country.
